Why should you choose Conservatile?
Reliable roof solutions
Over the years, many of our customers have asked us how to reduce noise and heat in their existing conservatories. Some of our customers were glad that we could help them convert their room, which was once used only for six months of the year (because of the weather), now being transformed and refreshed into a room they can use all round the year.
Research at Cranfield University has shown that the average south-facing conservatory reaches a comfortable temperature for only two hours a day, unless artificial heating or cooling is provided. The glass roof and walls have minimal insulation value and a conservatory is little more than a greenhouse tacked onto the side of a house.
During summer it is essential to prevent harmful UV radiations from entering the conservatory, without compromising the brightness and airy condition preferred. Building regulations now specify that U Values must be 2.0 w/m2K or lower, which is a measurement of the rate of heat loss through a material. Lower the U Value, the less heat will be needlessly escaping. In all aspects of home design, one should strive for the lowest U Values possible.
At PLj, we use lightweight aluminium tiles to the exterior combined with uPVC cladding to the interior but keeping the original polycarbonate inside for insulation purposes. The lightweight tile reduces the U value significantly and adds value without compromising the structural integrity. A bright white cladding is fitted to the interior to retain the brightness.
During winter, when there is reduced sunlight through the sides of the conservatory, the substantial thermal efficiency of the insulated roofing system will retain heat inside, allowing you to spend far less money on any additional heating.
The high energy efficient roof tiles not only save you money but also reduce noise and are environmentally friendly. Our slate tiles offer the same great aesthetics as traditional slate roof tiles while offering superior benefits.
